Light rain with thunder, lightning and gusty winds may occur in some parts of Delhi-NCR, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand on Wednesday and the temperature is also likely to drop in the next two-three days. .
In the latest INSAT 3D satellite images, thick clouds are visible everywhere in Jammu and Kashmir. In the next 24 hours when these clouds will advance further and reach the North-West India region, light rain is predicted over many parts of North-West India including Delhi-NCR, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Madhya. “Due to this, people in some states including Delhi, Haryana, Punjab will get relief from heatwave for two-three days from Wednesday,” Dr. Naresh Kumar, senior scientist of the Meteorological Department told NDTV.
However, severe heat wave threat continued in several states of North-West India including Delhi-NCR on Tuesday and people faced extreme heat.
Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, many parts of Uttar Pradesh and parts of North Madhya Pradesh, South Bihar and North Rajasthan recorded maximum temperatures between 44 and 46 degrees Celsius.
At least ten places in Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Punjab and Haryana touched or crossed 45 degrees Celsius on Tuesday. Orai in Uttar Pradesh was the hottest place in the country with 46.4 degrees Celsius.

Crores of people in Delhi-NCR and surrounding states are now waiting for the monsoon. According to India Meteorological Department, Monsoon will reach Delhi-NCR on time by June 30.
Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected at these places
Along with this, heavy to very heavy rain is likely at various places over sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim today. Also, heavy to very heavy rain is forecast for two days over sub-Himalayan Assam and Meghalaya and very heavy rain is forecast at isolated places.
According to the Meteorological Department, one cyclonic circulation is located over the North-Eastern Arabian Sea adjacent to Saurashtra and the other over West Central Bay of Bengal adjacent to coastal Andhra Pradesh. Due to its impact, Gujarat, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada may experience light to moderate rains for the next 5 days.
Heavy rains are likely over Madhya Maharashtra along with Konkan and Goa from June 18 to 21. Along with this, strong winds with a speed of 30 to 40 kmph and light to moderate rain may occur over Karnataka, Kerala, Lakshadweep. Light to moderate rain is likely over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry.
