The India-Pakistan match was lost due to rain

New Delhi. The third match of Asia Cup 2023 between India and Pakistan was canceled due to rain. The two teams faced each other at the Pallekele International Stadium. India gave Pakistan a target of 267 runs. The match was canceled due to continuous rain. One point each was shared between India and Pakistan from the canceled match. Pakistan team has qualified for Super 4 with 3 points. Babar Azam’s side became the first team to reach the Super 4 of Asia Cup 2023, while Team India also opened their account in the points table with a point.
Pakistan beat Nepal by a huge margin of 238 runs in their first match. They have made it to Super Four from Group A with 3 points from 2 matches with one win. Pakistan’s net run rate is 4.760. On the other hand, India are second in their group with one point. Team India has to face Nepal in their second match. The Indian team will face Nepal on September 4. If the match between India and Nepal is also drawn, then Team India will qualify for Super 4 by taking 2 points.
Sri Lanka are number one in Group B
Sri Lanka have played one match in Group B and got 2 points by winning it. The Lankan team is on top of its group while the teams of Bangladesh and Afghanistan will meet in this group on Sunday. Bangladesh were defeated by Sri Lanka in the first match. They have to beat Afghanistan at any cost to stay in the Super Four.
India scored 266 runs with the help of Hardik Pandya and Ishan
Talking about the match, Hardik Pandya and Ishan Kishan revived the Indian innings with an early shock from Shaheen Afridi but rain dashed their hopes. The Indian team was bowled out for 266 runs in 48.5 overs. Isha scored 82 runs in 81 balls and Pandya scored 87 runs in 90 balls. The duo put on a strong score of 138 off 141 balls for the fifth wicket.
