In ICC T20 World Cup 2024, Team India has made a winning start in Super-8. In the Super-8 today, a match was played between India and Afghanistan at the Kensington Oval ground in Barbados, in which Team India registered a brilliant victory by 47 runs. Team India won the match against Afghanistan by performing strongly in all three sections. From India, Suryakumar Yadav played an innings of 53 runs off 28 balls. India lost two wickets for 54 runs when Surya came on the field. Both skipper Rohit Sharma and Rishabh Pant returned to the pavilion and Team India looked in dire straits, with Jasprit Bumrah taking three wickets for just seven runs in four overs. Bumrah dismissed Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Hazratullah Zazai and Najibullah Zadran. Both of them played the most important role in making Team India win.

Suryakumar Yadav was adjudged Man of the Match for his impressive innings. This was Suryakumar Yadav’s 15th man of the match award in T20 Internationals. Suryakumar Yadav has thus surpassed Virat Kohli. Virat Kohli has also won 15 Man of the Match awards, but he has won these awards in 120 matches, while Suryakumar Yadav has won 15 Man of the Match awards in just 64 matches.

In the Super-8, the top-2 teams of India, Australia, Afghanistan and Bangladesh will reach the semi-finals.
