Indian captain Rohit Sharma has dismissed allegations of ball tampering against Indian fast bowler Arshdeep. On the eve of the T20 World Cup 2024 semi-final match against England, Rohit Sharma has slammed former Pakistan players accusing him of ball tampering. Rohit has suggested an open mind and said that the situation should also be looked at. Former Pakistan cricketer Inzamam ul Haq has accused the Indian team of ball tampering.
In the press conference on the charge of ball tampering, Rohit Sharma said, what should I answer to this? If you are playing in the sun and the wicket is dry, the ball will reverse automatically. Reverse swing is happening for all teams. Not just for us. Sometimes, it is necessary to open your mind (use your brain). The situation also has to be seen. You have to understand where we are playing. We are not playing in England or Australia.”
Former Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq made a big allegation of ball tampering on the Indian team during a live TV show. He urged the umpires to be more vigilant and pay attention to incidents of ball tampering during India’s matches in the T20 World Cup.
Inzamam-ul-Haq said, ‘When Arshdeep Singh was bowling the 15th over, the ball was reverse-swinging. Is it difficult to reverse swing that fast with a new ball? This meant that the ball was able to reverse by the 12th-13th over. Because when he came to bowl the 15th over, his reverse swing had started. So umpires should keep their eyes open here too.
