Former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh has also termed Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli as the right pairing to open the innings. The Indian team is going to start its campaign in the T20 World Cup 2024 to be held in America and West Indies with a match against Ireland on Wednesday. India defeated Bangladesh in their only practice match. Speaking to reporters after the match, captain Rohit admitted that the Indian team could not get its batting order right for the World Cup.

Harbhajan Singh has given his opinion on India’s possible playing XI. He has also said why Kohli should open with Rohit. Harbhajan Singh said on his YouTube channel, “It is difficult to bat on this pitch. In such a situation you need big players and Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli should open. The platform he can build, I think it will be difficult for Yashwi Jaiswal to do so in these matches.

He continued, “When I was in India. I said that spinners will play a big role in the T20 World Cup. However after arriving here I think the spinners will be useful and the fast bowlers on this pitch will cause problems with every ball. We saw what Enrique Norrgia did in that spell. Even an ordinary bowler looked dangerous here.

Harbhajan Singh’s Indian playing XI against Ireland in T20 World Cup: Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant, Shivam Dubey, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Yuzvendra Chahal, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammad Siraj, Arshdeep Singh.
