Former India captain Krishnamachari Srikanth has said that Virat Kohli is fully fit to play till the 2026 T20 World Cup. India will open their World Cup campaign against Ireland on Wednesday, June 5 at the Nassau County Cricket Ground in New York. Srikanth said on his YouTube show that Virat Kohli is yet to win the T20 World Cup title and the former captain will be desperate to win it. The former cricketer has praised Virat Kohli’s fitness.

Krishnamachari Srikanth said, “Is this the last chance for them (Kohli, Rohit) to win as a team, maybe yes, remember, T20 World Cup 2026 is in India. That’s why everyone wants to play in India. As far as I believe, with the kind of fitness Virat Kohli has, he can easily play till 2026. So 2026 could be Virat’s last year. This is not the last chance for Virat Kohli. But he will be very keen as he is yet to win a single T20 World Cup.

He continued, “Rohit won in 2007. He wanted to win the ODI World Cup at any cost but missed out. His eyes will now be on the T20 World Cup. He feels India should win the World Cup as a captain. Winning the World Cup as a captain is a big deal. That is why there is so much discussion about MS Dhoni. He has won four major trophies. Rohit Sharma would want to win for team and country more than himself, that’s what I’m trying to say.
