Team India coach Rahul Dravid said ahead of India vs South Africa T20 World Cup final that playing three ICC finals in the last 12 months is a reflection of his team’s great consistency and he hopes that this time his team will win the title with smart cricket and luck. India has been the strongest team in this T20 World Cup. India also won ten consecutive matches in the ODI World Cup on its soil in November last year but lost in the final.
Ahead of the T20 World Cup final against South Africa, Dravid said, “It’s good that we are playing good cricket consistently. We have reached the finals in all three formats and the credit goes to the players. If we play well and luck favors us, we will definitely win.
Regarding mental preparation, he said that nothing can be done as there is only one day difference between the semi-final and the final.
The team reached Barbados after beating England in the semi-finals in Guyana but the coach said his team is mentally prepared for the match.
He said, “We got only one day in between so practice was not possible. We are physically, mentally and tactically ready for the match.
When asked what lessons he has learned from the WTC final 2023 and the loss to Australia in the ODI World Cup, Dravid said, “Nothing.” We played well in the ODI World Cup and were fully prepared for the final but the other team was better than us. This happens in sports. If any team reaches the final it will be good and they have as much right to win as we do.
