New Delhi. Zimbabwe have announced their squad for the T20 series with India. India have announced their youth squad for the series and named Shubman Gill as the captain. Meanwhile, Zimbabwe have named 38-year-old Sikandar Raza as their captain. The 5-match series between India and Zimbabwe is scheduled to be played from July 6.
Zimbabwe have included Antum Naqvi in the 17-man squad. The 25-year-old will make his international debut in the India-Zimbabwe series. Tendai Chatara, Brendan Mavuta and Wesley Madhwere have returned to the Zimbabwe squad. Ryan Berl, Joylord Gumby did not make the team.
India had already announced their squad for the series with Zimbabwe. While the T20 World Cup was being played, the BCCI announced the squad for the Zimbabwe tour under the captaincy of Shubman Gill. The 12 players who are playing in the World Cup have not been given a place in this team. These players were rested, so that the younger players could be given a chance. However, Nitish Reddy is no longer included in this team due to injury. Shivam Dubey has been called in the team in his place.
