India-Canada T20 World Cup match cancelled, Sunil Gavaskar furious, scolds ICC

New Delhi. The Indian cricket team registered three consecutive wins and qualified for the ICC T20 World Cup Super 8. Team India was scheduled to play Canada in the last league match but the match was washed away due to rain. Rohit Sharma’s team wanted to enter the next round with a fourth consecutive win but the decision was taken to abandon the match without a ball being bowled. Former Indian captain Sunil Gavaskar was furious with the ICC after the match between India and Canada was called off due to rain.

Many matches in the ICC T20 World Cup have been spoiled due to rain this time. The Indian team has been placed in Group A alongside arch-rivals Pakistan, hosts USA, Ireland and Canada. The group was hit hard by the rain. Two matches had to be canceled due to rain. There is one Pakistani team whose matches have not been washed away by rain. The match between America and Ireland could not be played due to rain. The match between India and Canada also had to be canceled due to the same reason.
