India set record for most sixes in a T20 World Cup match, 17-year-old history destroyed

New Delhi. As the T20 World Cup 2024 progresses, the Indian batsmen are coming into form. Indian batsmen set the record for most sixes in a Super-8 match. India hit 13 sixes against Bangladesh on Saturday. This is the record for most sixes hit by India in a T20 World Cup match.

In this India-Bangladesh match, Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dubey hit 3 sixes each. Rishabh Pant hit 2 sixes and Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav hit sixes each. In this way, the Indian batsmen hit a total of 13 sixes. This is the Indian record for most sixes in a match in the 24-year history of the T20 World Cup. The previous record was set in 2007 when India hit 11 sixes against England. This was the same match in which Yuvraj Singh hit 6 sixes in one over of Stuart Broad.

The Indian team batted first in the Super-8 match against Bangladesh. The match was played in Antigua, where the pitch was suitable for batting. The Indian batsmen took full advantage of it and scored 196 runs. This is also the highest score in T20 International matches at this ground. This is also India’s third highest score in T20 World Cup.

Hardik Pandya scored a fifty
Hardik Pandya scored the most runs for India. He played an unbeaten innings of 50 runs off 27 balls. Pandya was the only batsman from India to score a half century. After Hardik, Virat Kohli (37) scored the most runs for India. This is also his highest score in the current T20 World Cup. Shivam Dubey scored 36 runs, Rishabh Pant scored 34 runs and Rohit Sharma scored 23 runs.
