Indian captain Rohit Sharma said during a press conference in Mumbai on Thursday that the IPL did not play much of a role in selecting the 15 players for the T20 World Cup. He said that the selection committee and the leadership group had decided on the core group before the IPL. According to Rohit, there were some positions to be decided during the IPL and he is happy with the 15-man squad selection.

He said that 70 to 80 percent of the squad is already decided before the IPL. He said, “You think accordingly with the playing eleven in mind. Talks of final 15 started before IPL.
