Ramaswamy has now reached the second position. Pollsters found somewhat more “volatile support” among DeSantis supporters than Ramaswamy. According to The Hill, about half of Ramaswamy’s supporters said they would definitely vote for him, while only a third of DeSantis supporters said so. Meanwhile, more than 80 percent of Trump supporters said they would definitely vote for the former president. Some polls show Ramaswamy close to DeSantis for second place.

As The Hill reports, Spencer Kimball, executive director of Emerson College Polling, said in a release that Ramaswamy improved among voters with post-graduate degrees, winning more than 17 percent of that group, and with younger voters, more than 16 percent. Voters below 35 years of age. Meanwhile, according to The Hill, DeSantis’ support among bachelor voters has dropped from 38 percent in June to 14 percent now, and remains at just 15 percent among voters under 35.

The release further stated that DeSantis’ decline paralleled Emerson’s New Hampshire poll in which former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) is 1 point behind DeSantis for second place in the state. DeSantis, Ramaswamy and other GOP presidential candidates will have their clearest chance to take the national stage in the first Republican primary debate next week, especially since Trump plans to skip it. More than 80 percent of Republican primary voters said they plan to watch the debate, The Hill reports.

The poll was conducted Aug. 16-17 among 1,000 registered voters, including 465 voters who said they plan to vote in their state’s Republican primary or caucus.
