The 63rd match of IPL 2024 will be played on Monday between Gujarat Titans (GT) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The two teams will meet for the first time in the current season. KKR has got a ticket to the playoffs. GT will look to keep its playoff hopes alive. A video of the KKR players has surfaced before this match, in which they are seen talking to each other. Meanwhile, Rinku Singh gave a very interesting reaction after reaching Ahmedabad. “We’re back again, son,” he said.
Let us tell you that last year in Ahmedabad, Rinku’s fate changed overnight. Rinku made his IPL debut in the year 2018 but created a sensation in 2023 by hitting five consecutive sixes in the GT vs KKR match. KKR then needed 29 runs from the last over. In such a situation, Rinku targeted Yash Dayal and hit five sixes to give KKR an unexpected win. After which Rinku made many headlines. He got an opportunity to make his debut in international cricket only a few months later. The 26-year-old Rinku has played 15 T20Is and two ODIs for India so far.
GT, who won the title in IPL 2022 and finished runners-up last year, are hoping for a miracle to make it to the playoffs this year. Gujarat captain Shubman Gill recently said, “Our chances of qualifying are 0.1 or 1 percent. We all feel we can still make the playoffs. Because I have seen that this team has done miracles and we can do it again.” Gujarat Titans are eighth in the points table with 10 points from 12 matches. To keep playoff hopes alive, GTA will have to win their remaining two matches of the league stage and hope other results go in the team’s favour.
