Mumbai Indians out of IPL 2024 playoffs: Nothing has gone well for Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. Ahead of IPL 2024, the captaincy was taken away from Rohit Sharma and handed over to Hardik Pandya. Hardik Pandya was vehemently opposed, the team suffered back-to-back defeats, Suryakumar Yadav couldn’t play in the opening matches… and all this resulted in Mumbai Indians becoming the first team to exit the IPL 2024 race. Former Pakistan fast bowler Wasim Akram has made a bold prediction and said that Rohit Sharma will not be part of Mumbai Indians next season.
Akram said in an interview to Sportskida, ‘I think Rohit Sharma will not be with Mumbai Indians next season. I would like to see him in the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) team, imagine him opening the innings there… Gautam Gambhir as mentor, Shreyas Iyer as captain, so they will have a very good batting line-up. Rohit Sharma bats great in Eden Gardens, he bats great on any wicket, he is a great player, I want to see him in KKR.
Mumbai Indians have won only four out of 12 matches. The team has faced defeat in eight matches. Despite having great players like Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya, everyone is surprised to see the state of Mumbai Indians. Hardik Pandya has returned to the Mumbai Indians team after two years, but looking at the way Mumbai Indians have performed this season, it doesn’t look like Hardik Pandya will be the captain in the next season as well.
