The Australian veteran played an unbeaten innings of 54 runs at a strike rate of 257.14 in the warm-up match. David Warner hit six fours and three sixes in a 21-ball innings. Australia beat Namibia by 7 wickets in T20 World Cup practice match. Namibia batted first in this match played in Port of Spain. He scored 119 for 9 in the allotted 20 overs. At one point, Australia bowled out Namibia for 75 runs for 7 wickets. At that point, Namibia were in danger of being bowled out within 100 runs.
Jane Green, who came in to bat at number eight, played an innings of 38 runs to somehow take Namibia past 100 runs. Wicketkeeper Zane Green also got support from number nine batsman Malan Kruger (18) and number 10 batsman Davis Visa (12). Not a single top-order batsman from Namibia could score more than 15 runs. Adam Zampa took the most 3 wickets from Australia. Josh Hazlewood took 2 wickets. Tim David and Nathan Ellis each struck out a batter.
Chasing an easy target, Australia got off to a good start. Captain and opener Mitchell Marsh and David Warner shared a partnership of 39 runs for the first wicket. After this, Australia lost 2 wickets one after the other. Mitchell Marsh was dismissed for 18 runs and Jos Inglis was dismissed for 5 runs. After this David Warner and Tim David put on a partnership of 46 runs and took their team closer to victory. After the dismissal of Tim David (23), Warner along with Matthew Wade (12) led his team to victory. Warner completed his fifty in 20 balls and Australia won the match in just 10 overs.
