Former Pakistan veterans are praising Rohit and Virat a lot.

Karachi:

Many Pakistani cricket legends like Wasim Akram and Javed Miandad have praised Indian stars Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, calling it the right time to retire after the team’s triumph in the recently concluded T20 World Cup. India beat South Africa by seven runs in a roller-coaster final in Barbados to win their second T20 World title. Former veteran batsman Zaheer Abbas said, ‘I have always been a fan of Rohit’s batting and I try to watch when the match is on TV. Kohli’s greatness is in front of everyone, his records speak for themselves, but for Rohit I am happy that he was able to win the World Cup for his country.

Javed Miandad, one of Pakistan’s greatest batsmen, said that both the greats have retired at the right time. Miandad said, ‘We will still see him in Test and 50-over cricket but it is fitting for his career that he has done it proud in T20 Internationals.’ Great fast bowler Waqar Younis said that both Rohit and Kohli stood up for India in difficult circumstances and won matches for their country. He also praised Jasprit Bumrah’s bowling throughout the World Cup and said that he was a big match winner for India.

Rashid Latif said that it is India’s success story that the team has made it to three finals of ICC competitions in the last one year. This shows that his team management is in sync with the players. He said, “A lot of credit for what India has achieved today must go to Rahul Dravid and his support staff. He gave proper guidance to Indian team and players. Shahid Afridi said that Rohit is an exceptional captain and Kohli has always performed well in big matches. “Both Rohit and Kohli have done the right thing by retiring after leading India to the World Cup title,” he said.
