Rajinikanth’s biggest flop: These days Rajinikanth is basking in the success of Jailer, which had a box office collection of Rs 600 crore. His films have always pleased the audience as well as his producers and distributors. Their success formula is that they make commercial films and family entertainers, which give a good experience to the audience and attract people to the theatres. Shiva: Shiva is a 1989 film directed by Amirzaan and produced by Kavitalaya Productions. Despite working hard, Siva failed to impress his audience and caused huge losses to the producers.

Nattukku Oru Nallavan: The film is directed by V. was directed by Ravichandran in Tamil, Kannada and Telugu and was released simultaneously in 1991 in all three languages. The film failed miserably in all languages, causing its producer N. Veerasamy suffered a heavy loss.

Naan Adimai Ilai: Naan Adimai Ilai was directed by Dwarkish and produced by AVM. This Hindi film was also a remake of ‘Pyaar Jukta Nahin’ and was a huge failure at the box office. Interestingly, after its release in 1986, it also ended Sridevi’s acclaimed career in Kollywood.

Maviran: Another remake of the superhit Hindi film Marda, Maviran was directed by Rajasekhar and directed by G. Hanumant Rao did it. Apart from receiving negative reviews, the film was a complete flop at the box office. Kamal Haasan’s Punnagai Mannan was released alongside this film for Diwali in 1986, due to which Rajinikanth’s film did not receive much response.

Viduthalai: Despite having good stars like Sivaji Ganesan and Vishnuvardhan and being a remake of the highly successful Hindi film Qurbani, the film somehow failed to make money and its producer Suresh Balaje suffered huge losses as it was a high budget film. It is directed by K. Vijayan and it was released in 1986.

Valli: The film was written and produced by Rajinikanth and directed by K Nataraj. When it released in 1993, the film disappointed all Rajinikanth fans and failed at the box office. This put Rajinikanth in trouble as he suffered huge financial losses.

Sri Raghavendra: Sri Raghavendra is Rajinikanth’s 100th film and is directed by one of the most successful directors S.P. Muthuramaan, the film generated huge expectations but failed at the box office despite Rajinikanth’s commendable performance. It was produced by Balachander and released in the year 1985.
