Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah created a new record in his name on Wednesday. Bumrah became the bowler to bowl the most madden overs in T20 international cricket. He became the first player from a full member nation to do so. However, the world record for most overs in T20 international cricket is held by Uganda’s Frank Subuga. He has bowled 17 overs without conceding a single run in T20I cricket. No other bowler in the world could come close to this record.
Meanwhile, Jasprit Bumrah played T20 on Wednesday. World Cup Bowled a madden over against Ireland in the 2024 match. With this, he became the first bowler to achieve the feat most times as a full member nation player. He left compatriot Bhuvneshwar Kumar behind. Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled 10 overs in T20 international cricket, but now Bumrah has surpassed him by bowling 11 overs. Bumrah is third on the list overall, as Kenya’s Sam Ngoche has bowled 12 overs.
As for Bumrah, he bowled 3 overs against Ireland out of which one over was a maiden and he cost only 6 runs. During this he also got two wickets. He also got the player of the match award for this dangerous bowling. Not only that, captain Rohit Sharma used him as a third bowler. The captain knows that Bumrah can bowl anywhere. This is the reason why he wanted to give some confidence to Arshdeep Singh and Mohammad Siraj. That’s why he was bowled a lot in the Powerplay.
