This time the average opening rank for Computer Science in IIT Patna was 1760 and closing rank was 2985. At the same time, Computer Science and Engineering in NIT Patna has a common opening rank of 8776 and closing rank of 16284. Around 780 seats were allotted to IIT Patna (total 817 seats) in the first round. Whereas, NIT Patna (total 941 seats) got 930 students in the first round. Computer Science seats were the first in demand in the first round.
This time the cutoff for Economics (24 seats) started in IIT Patna is also higher than many other branches. The opening rank of General Category of Economics was 6772 and the closing rank was 10174. Along with this, most of the computer science seats in IITs and NITs have been frozen on Friday itself.
A drop in the ranking of Computer Science
In the first round in 2023, IIT Patna had an average opening rank of 1345 and closing rank of 2512. This time General EWS opening rank was 304 and closing rank was 396. In 2023 it was 284 and 378. At the same time, the average opening rank of Computer Science and Engineering in NIT Patna was 8776 and the closing rank was 16284. While in the year 2023 the first round had 10277 and 14911 marks.
Opening and closing ranks of dual degree branches are different
Dual degree disciplines related to Computer Science have different opening and closing ranks. The general opening rank of MBA Digital Business Management (Dual Degree) with Computer Science is 327 and the closing rank is also 3427. Whereas, MBA in Hospital and Health Care Management with Chemical Science has a common opening rank of 11696 and closing rank of 12162.
