JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) has allotted seats in the first round for enrollment in 23 IITs of the country including IIT ISM Dhanbad. Nominations will be taken for 1125 seats in other courses including B.Tech in IIT Dhanbad. Importantly, IIT Dhanbad has allotted seats up to 23894 ranks of JEE Advanced. Talking about the best ranker i.e. institute opening rank, there is a slight improvement of 36 ranks in year 2024 as compared to year 2023. The organization’s best ranker in the year 2024 is 1817. The opening rank in the year 2023 was 1853. While in the year 2023, the closing rank was 24,166. The final rank of the first round in the year 2024 is 23894. In such a situation, it is believed that the closing rank by the fifth round will be much behind this.
Preparations for enrollment in IIT Dhanbad have started. Out of total 1125 seats in the institute, 115 seats are for girls under super numerical quota. Students who have been allotted seats in various IITs in the first round on Thursday. The last date for depositing admission fee for those students is June 24. After that, the second round of seat allotment will be done on June 27 for the vacant seats. The seat allotment of the fifth cum final round will take place on July 17.

Even after the offer, the toppers did not come after Dhanbad
IIT ISM Dhanbad has announced free education to top five students up to top 600 rank of JEE Advanced. Its aim is to attract toppers to IIT Dhanbad, but no student up to the top 600 ranks has accepted the offer. The organization has got the first best ranker 1817. The closing rank of seven branches has gone above 20 thousand. Compared to last year, the opening rank of many branches has also been backward. Now the organization will focus on the final cum fifth round seat allotment.
