Keeper-batsman caught in anti-corruption code, 5-year ICC ban, played ODI-Test-T20 matches

New Delhi. Devon Thomas of West Indies has been banned for 5 years. The decision was taken by the ICC after the wicketkeeper-batsman was found guilty of violating the Anti-Corruption Code. 34-year-old Devon Thomas is one of the few cricketers who is also a part-time bowler along with wicketkeeper. He has also taken wickets in Test and ODI matches.

Devon Thomas made his international debut in 2009. He played 21 ODIs, 12 T20s and one Test match for West Indies. He played his last ODI in 2022. Devon Thomas has been playing consistently in T20 leagues in many countries including Sri Lanka, West Indies, United Arab Emirates. The ICC has held him guilty of violating the anti-corruption code in this league cricket.

ICC General Manager (Integrity Unit) Alex Marshall said, ‘Devon Thomas has violated the anti-corruption code multiple times in international and league cricket. He was also aware of this. He did this deliberately. Devon Thomas has accepted his mistake. After this, the ICC has banned Devon Thomas from all cricket activities for 5 years.
