Indian team wicketkeeper batsman KL Rahul praised left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav as his sensational performance helped India seal their place in the Asia Cup 2023 final. The veteran spinner took five wickets in the Super 4 match against Pakistan, when he sent four Sri Lankan batsmen to the pavilion.
Talking about his experience watching Kuldeep bowl from behind the wicket, KL Rahul said in the post-match press conference, “He is bowling really well. I enjoy watching him bowl when I am wicket-keeping. The way he is bowling. is, sometimes I can’t even lift it under the lights. They have developed new tricks and you can see that it pays off. His rhythm and execution is phenomenal.”
On a surface more suited to spinners, young Sri Lankan spinner Dunith Vellage tore apart the Indian batting setup. He took his first five wickets. KL Rahul asserted that the Indian batsmen will try to attack the youngster the next time they face him.
Rahul continued, “He was bowling very accurately. He took five wickets. He did a good job for his team. He looked the most dangerous bowler in the Sri Lankan attack as long as I was playing. Maybe next time. “When we We will try to chase it when we play.”
