Kyrgyzstan violence: ‘Sir, we have been trapped in the hostel for four days, we can’t even come out’

‘Sir, we have been confined in the hostel for four days, we cannot even come out. Going out is prohibited. Anyway, here we ask God to keep us safe. Ravi Sarathe, who is studying MBBS in Kyrgyzstan, says so. Speaking to News 18, Ravi Sarathe said that to be honest, every Indian student here is in a state of panic. Don’t know when it will happen. Ravi Sarthe says with a trembling voice, ‘I am doing MBBS from the Asian Medical Institute here. This is my third year. This has never happened here till today, but what has been happening here for the last four-five days is beyond comprehension.

Living a quarantine type of life
Ravi says his dream is to become a doctor after studying MBBS. He reached Kyrgyzstan to fulfill this dream, but he never thought that he would have to stay in prison like this. He further says that we are living a quarantine type of life in the hostel. Let us tell you that Ravi Sarathe is a resident of Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. Currently he is studying MBBS in Kyrgyzstan, but for the past few days local people of Kyrgyzstan have been protesting against foreign students. Some students are also being beaten up by local residents and forced to vacate their homes. Many of his videos are going viral. Yogesh Chaudhary’s brother, another student studying MBBS in Kyrgyzstan, said that the brother was very nervous. He is in the hostel. Going out is prohibited. In such a situation, hundreds of students like him cannot come out of the hostel. We are very concerned.

What is the whole matter?
According to media reports, disputes have erupted between locals and outsiders in Kyrgyzstan. In fact, this whole affair started after the incident of molestation of Egyptian schoolgirls. Meanwhile, there was a fight between the two sides. Due to which the local students started fighting and violence. More cases of ill-treatment of students from India, Pakistan and Bangladesh are coming to light here.

Thousands of Indian students are trapped
Every year thousands of Indian students go to Kyrgyzstan to study MBBS. At present about 30 thousand Indian students are studying there, out of which about 1200 students from Madhya Pradesh are in Kyrgyzstan. After the incident, his family members informed the authorities, after which this information was passed on to CM Dr. Mohan Yadav was reached, after which he spoke to some students on video call and reassured them. Let us tell you that many children from Ujjain, Mandsaur, Neemuch of Madhya Pradesh are studying medicine in Kyrgyzstan.
