The Caribbean innings came
South Africa won the toss and invited West Indies to bat first. By the time the score was five runs, Shai Hope and Nicholas Pooran returned to the pavilion. Kyle Meyers scored 35 runs while Roston Chase scored 52 runs. It was only on the strength of the innings of these two that the Caribbean team could reach this score, otherwise even scoring 100 runs seemed difficult. For South Africa, Tabrez Shamsi took three wickets for 27 runs in four overs. Marco Jensen, Aidan Markram and Keshav Maharaj took one wicket each.
