New Delhi. Yusuf Pathan, former cricketer of the Indian cricket team, has now entered politics. In the Lok Sabha elections, he became an MP from the Bahrampur seat of West Bengal from the Trinamool Congress Party. Yusuf Pathan was contesting against Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary in Behrampur seat. Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary had to face defeat here. However, Yusuf Pathan is not the first cricketer to become an MP. Earlier, Gautam Gambhir, Navjot Singh Sidhu, Mohammad Azharuddin, Kirti Azad and Chetan Chauhan have also become MPs.

Yusuf Pathan made his debut in the T20 match. His debut was brilliant. In fact, former Indian batsman Virender Sehwag was injured before the final of the 2007 T20 World Cup. No one could break this record in 4 seasons. But then in 2013, Chris Gayle broke Yusuf’s record by scoring a century in just 30 balls.

Yusuf Pathan scored a total of 810 runs in 41 ODI innings in his ODI career. In these 41 innings, his name includes 2 centuries and 3 half-centuries. Yusuf Pathan also scored 236 runs in 18 T20 innings for India. His strike rate during this period was 146.58. While bowling, Yusuf also took 33 wickets in ODI matches and 13 wickets in T20 matches.
