This special type of umbrella is made in Attappadi, Kerala. This is very colorful. But its biggest feature is that it is prepared by the tribal women of Kerala. Women lead it
These umbrellas are supervised by Vatalaki Agricultural Society and headed by Nari Shakti. The women of Attappadi have set the best example of entrepreneurship. The society has also established a Bamboo Handicraft Unit. Apart from this, they are also planning to open a retail outlet and a traditional cafe. The work of this society is not only to sell their products, but they are also introducing people to their tradition and culture.
