New Delhi. Pakistan team has been eliminated from the T20 World Cup 2024. After losing to USA in the Super Over, Babar Azam captained Pakistan team was in a do or die situation before entering the match against India. When Team India gave a target of just 120 runs, it looked as if the match had been handed over to Pakistan. However, the Pakistani team failed to register a victory. Pakistani all-rounder Imad Wasim holds himself responsible for the team’s defeat in this match.

Imad Wasim said, ‘The game plan was that we had to take it to the end. The wicket was not good to play on. It was a bit of a difficult wicket. My game plan was going well, but unfortunately I couldn’t execute it. Because usually when I bat I take the game deep. Had I hit a boundary at both ends while batting, the game would have been different. Normally, under pressure, the bowler gives you a ball on which you can hit a boundary, but he didn’t. I was taking the game till the end because I was hoping that no new batsman would come and hit the shot. So Naseem hit two good shots.

I regret that…
Emad continued, I think scoring a run in the 17th over was a turning point. It’s unfortunate that it didn’t happen, it’s an incident but it was a big match. Our team and I are more disappointed than you guys (the media). I let the team down, because normally when I go into this position I’m very calm and get the job done. This was my work which I could not finish. I regret it and always will. This is life and sometimes you make mistakes.
