Lost government, took away father’s legacy, know how Uddhav Thackeray became the fighter of 2024

Mumbai:

The result of the Lok Sabha elections in 2024 has given the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) a chance to come to power at the Center for the third time with 292 seats. Narendra Modi will become the Prime Minister for the third time, but his party BJP alone could not cross the majority mark (272). BJP has got only 240 seats. The biggest losses for the BJP in these elections are in the two states where it has the largest number of Lok Sabha seats. Out of 80 seats in Uttar Pradesh, BJP has won only 33 seats. While the lotus bloomed in only 9 seats out of 48 seats in Maharashtra. Uddhav Thackeray emerged as a big fighter in Maharashtra. Of course, the Congress became the single largest party here with 13 seats, but Uddhav Thackeray’s stature grew.

First the government fell. He also lost the post of Chief Minister. After that, his legacy in Shiv Sena was broken. Eventually the party lost its name and even its mark. But Uddhav Thackeray did not stop. Not bent and not broken. He understood, integrated and handled things. Finally, in the Lok Sabha elections, the public has shown who the real Shiv Sena of Maharashtra is. Uddhav Thackeray’s faction Shiv Sena (UBT) has won 9 seats in the elections.

Let’s understand how Uddhav Thackeray became a big fighter in Maharashtra:-

In 2019, Mahavikas became the CM in the Aghadi government
Assembly elections were held in Maharashtra in 2019. Uddhav Thackeray’s party (Undivided Shiv Sena) contested the election in alliance with the BJP. The coalition won. But, there could not be a conversation regarding the post of Chief Minister. Uddhav Thackeray eventually broke the alliance with the BJP. Thackeray then formed the Mahavikas Aghadi government with Congress and Sharad Pawar’s party NCP. Uddhav Thackeray became CM. Everything was going well. Meanwhile, Ajit Pawar struck back. But, Sharad Pawar brought his nephew back to Mahavikas Aghadi. 2 years later, in 2022, Eknath Shinde, close to Uddhav Thackeray, rebelled with 33 MLAs. Due to which Uddhav Thackeray resigned before the floor test. Later Shinde formed the government in alliance with BJP. Shinde became CM.

How 63 seats slipped away from BJP due to a mere 0.7% vote loss, understand the complete math.

The party lost its name and symbol on February 17, 2023
The Election Commission announced its decision on February 17, 2023. The panel called the Shinde faction the real Shiv Sena. Thus, Uddhav Thackeray lost the party name and symbol of bow and arrow formed by his father Balasaheb Thackeray. Uddhav only said, “Once a traitor, always a traitor.”

The same story repeated itself with NCP in 2023
The same story was repeated in 2023. This time the party was NCP. Ajit Pawar rebelled against his uncle Sharad Pawar. He was made Deputy CM in Shinde government. On 6 February 2024, the Election Commission again gave such a decision. The panel termed Ajit Pawar’s faction as the real NCP. He was given the name and logo of the party.

The BJP-led alliance Mahayutti (BJP-Shinde group and Ajit Pawar group) was overconfident about its victory in Maharashtra in the Lok Sabha elections. At the same time, Uddhav Thackeray, Sharad Pawar and Congress were working on grass roots. He strengthened the cadre. Strong engagement with voters. Strengthened strategy. The result is in front of everyone.

This was an MVA performance
The opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) won 29 out of 48 seats in the Lok Sabha election results, dealing a major blow to the ruling Mahayuti alliance led by Eknath Shinde. Mahavikas Aghadi has captured 30 seats. Uddhav Thackeray’s faction Shiv Sena (UBT) won 9 seats. Sharad Pawar’s NCP managed to win 8 seats.

In the third term, the country will write a new chapter of big decisions, what is the meaning of this guarantee of Modi?

Mahayuti was shocked
On the other hand, the BJP-led Mahayutti has suffered a major blow in this election. The BJP-led coalition won only 17 seats. This reduction in the number of seats in Maharashtra has reduced BJP’s seats by half. BJP got only 9 seats. Shinde Shiv Sena has got 7 seats. At the same time, Ajit Pawar faction’s NCP managed to get only 1 seat.

Aghadi also benefited from the sympathy Uddhav Thackeray received.
The way Uddhav Thackeray lost the government. Lost the post of chief minister. Lost his father’s legacy… He created sympathy among the electorate. Other parties of Mahavikas Aghadi namely Congress and Sharad Pawar group also benefited from this sympathy towards Uddhav.

BJP did not get full majority, what are the 5 biggest challenges facing PM Modi in 5 years now?

In the 2019 elections, Congress won one seat, but this time it has 13 seats to its account. When it comes to winning seats, Congress and Sharad Pawar have the best strike rate. In this way BJP has lost 10 seats compared to last election. When the Shiv Sena split into two, 13 MPs went with Eknath Shinde. This time only 7 seats were won. Ajit Pawar too had to bear the brunt of his uncle’s betrayal.

How did Uddhav Thackeray fight?
Uddhav Thackeray continued to work on the strategy set out in the election campaign. He led one side with his son Aditya Thackeray. On the other hand, wife Rashmi Thackeray and other son kept interacting with people. Due to bipartisan efforts, the Uddhav faction was re-launched. There was enthusiasm among the workers. It is noteworthy that in recent times Uddhav Thackeray has presented his image not as a radical but as a soft Hindutva. The public obviously liked his change.

Anti-incumbency was largely responsible for the revival of Maha Vikas Aghadis in Maharashtra. There were many constituencies including Nashik, Kolhapur, Hathkangale and Jalgaon where the BJP was in power for over 10 years. BJP could not handle it. Uddhav Thackeray has finally proved that whatever the Election Commission decides, the public understands who the real Shiv Sena is.
