For the fourth consecutive year, IIT Kanpur will award the Bright Minds Scholarship to the top 100 ranked candidates in JEE Advanced. The scholarship will be awarded by Lokveer Kapur, an alumnus of the institute. This scholarship was launched in the year 2021. Institute Director Prof. Manindra Aggarwal said that under the Bright Minds Scholarship, ten prestigious and highly sought after academic scholarships will be awarded to students taking admission in B.Tech and BS. All the eligible candidates will get Rs. 3 lakhs scholarship will be received. In such a case, the student’s tuition fees and living expenses while studying at IIT Kanpur will be covered under this scholarship. There will be no cost of tuition fees and accommodation. The scholarship will be for four years.

The scholarship will be awarded only to those selected students who will take admission in B.Tech, BS courses in the academic session 2024-2027. To continue the scholarship for all four years of B.Tech and BS, students must maintain a minimum CPI of 8.0.

The scholarship will cover all expenses including tuition, accommodation and boarding during your stay at IIT Kanpur. This scholarship was first launched in 2021 in collaboration with IIT Kanpur alumnus Lokveer Kapur. The objective behind the scholarship is to encourage and reward high merit students. Through this scholarship, IIT Kanpur wants that any student who gets a good rank in merit should not miss out on getting good education due to lack of funds.

Generally, a student spends Rs 12 lakh during a four-year B.Tech and BS course at IIT Kanpur. The scholarship will cover tuition fees, accommodation, books, health insurance and transportation. The tuition fee of IIT Kanpur is 2 lakh rupees. Hostel fees, mess, books, medical insurance and other expenses can cost up to Rs 1 lakh per annum. IIT Kanpur is ranked fourth in the country in the Government of India’s NIRF ranking in the category of engineering institutes. He placed fifth in the overall category.
