MBBS, NEET PG: UP govt gives big relief, those who leave medical seat midway will not have to pay penalty

The state government has given a huge relief to those who have given up their seats during their studies in UG, PG or super specialty courses of government and private medical colleges of Uttar Pradesh. Now they will not have to pay a fine for this, which was up to Rs 5 lakh for PG in government medical colleges while private medical colleges used to charge the full fee from the concerned student. The government has approved this proposal of Director General Medical Education Kinjal Singh.

The government has taken a big decision in the interest of medical students. In fact, if an MBBS or BDS student abandoned his seat midway, he had to pay a fine of Rs 1 lakh. Whereas, MD or MS candidates for vacating their seats will be charged Rs. 5 lakh and super specialty course DM or MCH students for giving up their seat midway Rs. There was a provision to pay a fine of 1 lakh.

The NMC had suggested the state government to waive the penalty. Based on which a proposal was sent to the government by the Director General of Medical Education. It has been approved. This permission is given on the condition that if a candidate vacates the seat before completing the course, he/she will be excluded from the admission process for the next academic session. That is, after leaving the seat next year he Neat Cannot take the exam.
