MI vs SRH: Hardik Pandya’s feat breaks Bhai Krunal and Zaheer Khan’s records in one fell swoop

Mumbai Indians (MI) captain and star all-rounder Hardik Pandya bowled well on Monday. He took three wickets against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the 55th match of IPL 2024. He conceded 31 runs in a four-over spell at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Hardik dismissed Nitish Reddy (20), Marco Jansen (17) and Shahbaz Ahmed (10). SRH scored 173/8 in 20 overs. Hardik has achieved a big feat by taking three wickets. In a single stroke, he broke the records of brother Krunal Pandya and veteran fast bowler Zaheer Khan.

In fact, Hardik has moved up to the sixth spot in the list of bowlers who have taken the most wickets for the Mumbai franchise in the IPL. He has 52 wickets to his name. He moved Krunal to number seven, who made 51 outs. Krunal is now part of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). Lasith Malinga (170) tops the list. Along with this, Hardik has become the fourth highest wicket taker as a captain in IPL. So far he has taken 22 wickets as captain. Zaheer Khan (20) has reached the fifth position. The great spinner Shane Warne (57) tops the list.

As for the match, apart from Hardik, MI spinner Piyush Chawla took three wickets. Travis Head (48) and Abhishek Sharma (11) once again gave Hyderabad an aggressive start. Both added 56 runs in 5.5 overs. Mayank Agarwal (5), Abdul Samad (3) and Henrik Klaassen (2) could not reach double figures. SRH lost their eighth wicket for 136 runs in the 17th over but captain Pat Cummins handled the situation well. He shared an unbroken partnership of 37 runs for the ninth wicket with Sanveer Singh (8 not out). Cummins played an unbeaten innings of 35 runs off 17 balls with two fours and six sixes.
