Modi ji is not afraid… Taiwan gave a jaw-dropping reply to China on relations with India

Taipei Taiwan hit back at China on Tuesday for criticizing the exchange of messages between the island nation and India. Taiwan’s Deputy Foreign Minister Tien Chung-kwang said in a statement that neither their president nor Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi would fear China. Taiwan’s sharp words came after China’s foreign ministry took exception to a message between PM Modi and Taiwanese President Lai Ching Teh in which Lai Ching congratulated PM Modi on his victory in the 2024 general elections in India.

Asked about China’s criticism of strong ties between India and Taiwan, the deputy foreign minister said, “…I think Modiji and our President will not be afraid…” Taiwan’s President-elect Lai Ching congratulated the PM last month. Narendra Modi on his victory in the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 at ‘X’ post on June 7.

He posted on ‘X’, “My heartiest congratulations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his election victory. “We look forward to expanding our cooperation in trade, technology and other areas to enhance the fast-growing #Taiwan-#India partnership, contributing to peace and prosperity in the #IndoPacific.”
