Monsoon may reach Delhi by the end of the week, know the status of your city

A private weather information agency on Wednesday predicted that the monsoon could reach Delhi by the end of this week, bringing relief to the people. However, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has not shared any information on when the monsoon will reach the national capital.

According to Mahesh Palawat of ‘Skymet Weather Service’, “Monsoon is likely to reach Delhi on June 29 or 30.”

According to the data, last year monsoon reached Delhi on June 26, while the first monsoon rains of 2022 were recorded on June 30.

Safdarjung observatory, the primary meteorological center of the national capital, recorded a temperature of 39 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, which was two degrees above normal.

Due to the effect of Western Disturbance, the weather of the city has changed due to which the maximum temperature has decreased. Delhi is experiencing pre-monsoon rains, bringing some relief from the heat.

Delhi is battling the scorching heat. There have been nine heat wave days in June so far, while 2023 and 2022 have not recorded a single such day.

Humidity is likely to be 70 percent

The temperature may drop. The maximum temperature on Thursday is expected to be 32 degrees and the minimum temperature will be 26 degrees. The wind will blow at a maximum speed of 16 km per hour. The humidity in the atmosphere can be 70 percent.

According to the Meteorological Department, Goa, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh may experience heavy rain on Wednesday. Wind will gust to 50 kmph in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Bihar. There is a warning of lightning in these states on Wednesday as well.

School holiday due to heavy rain warning in Karnataka’s Dakshina Kannada

A holiday has been declared in all primary and high schools and anganwadis on Thursday, in view of the heavy rain warning in Karnataka’s Dakshina Kannada district. An official of the state government gave this information on Wednesday.

District Magistrate M. P. Mullai Muhilan has directed to observe holiday in all schools of Dakshina Kannada district tomorrow.

The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy to very heavy rains and winds of 30-40 kmph in coastal Karnataka on Thursday. Apart from this, the Meteorological Department has predicted heavy to very heavy rains in all the coastal districts of Karnataka including Dakshina Kannada from June 28 to June 30.
