Unemployed youths have expressed their displeasure over the dwindling posts for recruitment through the state service examination conducted by the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC). The youth are demanding that the number of posts for this recruitment should be increased to at least 500 in view of the large number of vacant administrative posts in the state, which has come down to just 110 this time with the last biggest reduction. five years. Officials said that State Services Examination 2019 for recruitment to 571 posts, State Services Examination for 260 posts from 2020, State Services Examination for 290 posts from 2021, State Services Examination for 457 posts from 2022 and State Services Examination 2023. came There were 229 posts.

He said that the 2024 State Services Examination is being organized for recruitment to a total of 110 posts, under which 1.83 lakh candidates will appear in the preliminary examination to be held on June 23. It includes 15 posts of Deputy District Magistrate (Deputy Collector) and 22 posts of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP).

Bholaram Ustad Marg area of Indore is a major hub for students preparing for civil services exams where many coaching institutes and hostels operate. Akashdeep (30) has been away from his family in this area for the past six years and is preparing for the state services exam. “Only 110 posts are grossly inadequate for recruitment through the tough competitive civil service examination,” he told PTI on Wednesday. It should have at least 500 posts.

Akash Pathak, a leader of State Services Examination Candidates said, “On our demand, the MPPSC assured us before the Lok Sabha elections that it would write to various departments of the state government to increase the number of posts for recruitment under it. It will try for the civil services examination, but It is extremely unfortunate that our demand has not been met yet.

Pathak claimed that two to three lakh government posts are lying vacant in the state, including the higher administrative posts of Deputy Collector and DSP.

MPPSC officer on special duty (OSD) Ravindra Panchbhai said, “We issue advertisements for the state service exam for as many posts as government departments ask us for recruitment.”

However, he said that even after the advertisement is out, if the government departments seek recruitment to some more posts from the MPPSC, these additional posts will be included in the recruitment process till the result of the preliminary round of civil service examination. Can go as per rules.

The issue of Other Backward Classes (OBC) reservation in recruitment through the State Services Examination has long been a major legal dilemma. As a result, not as many posts are recruited through the advertisement as the Civil Services Examination.

“MPPSC is recruiting only 87 percent of the total advertised posts, citing the case pending in the Madhya Pradesh High Court regarding 27 percent reservation for OBCs in government jobs,” said Akash Pathak, leader of state services exam candidates. And the appointments to remaining 13 per cent posts are stalled.

Mrinal Pant, the spokesperson of the main opposition party Congress criticized the BJP government of the state and said, ‘Thousands of posts of gazetted officers are vacant in the state. In such a situation holding the state service exam for only 110 posts is like cheating the unemployed youth who have been preparing for it for a long time.
