New Delhi. BCCI’s senior selection committee headed by Ajit Agarkar has awarded wicketkeeper Sanju Samson for his good performance in IPL 2024. Sanju has been included in the announced 15-member Indian squad for the T20 World Cup. Sanju will be seen playing in the T20 World Cup for the first time. Sanju, who is captaining Rajasthan Royals in IPL, is making runs this season. Congress MP Shashi Tharoor is very happy to see Sanju Samson included in the World Cup team. Tharoor has said that the wicketkeeper-batsman from his Lok Sabha constituency Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala deserved to be selected.

India has announced a 15-member squad for the T20 World Cup to be held in West Indies and America in June. Along with Rishabh Pant, Samson (Sanju Samson) has been selected as the second wicketkeeper. Shashi Tharoor wrote on X, ‘Congratulations to the BCCI selectors for picking a great team for the T20 World Cup. I am happy that my Lok Sabha constituency will be represented in the Cricket World Cup as Sanju Samson has been selected in the team. This team will win the title.

Shashi Tharoor criticized a lot then
Tharoor had criticized Samson for not being selected in the ODI World Cup squad last year. While captaining Rajasthan Royals this year, Samson has scored 385 runs in nine matches in the IPL. Sanju is the batsman who has hit the most sixes since IPL 2020. He has hit 110 sixes. Sanju is currently easily leading the Rajasthan Royals as the captain in the IPL. He is leading the team from the front.
