New Delhi. The sixth match of Asia Cup 2023 was played between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan in Lahore on Tuesday. Sri Lankan team managed to win by two runs in this thrilling match. With this, Sri Lanka has qualified for Super-4. Afghanistan’s dream of going to the Super-4 has been shattered.

Afghanistan batsman Mohammad Nabi and captain Hashamtullah Shahidi batted brilliantly during the match. Both the batsmen batted brilliantly and scored half-centuries for their team and tried their best to win, but failed.

Sri Lanka managed to score 291 runs.

Earlier in Lahore, the Sri Lankan team, who won the toss and went to bat first, managed to score 291 runs for the loss of eight wickets in the allotted overs. Kusal Mendis has been in superb form while batting at number three for the team. He managed to score a team-high 92 off 84 balls at a strike rate of 109.52. However, he missed his third ODI century by just eight runs. Apart from him, the second highest scorer for the Sri Lankan team was Pathum Nisanka. Opening the innings, Nissanka contributed 41 runs off 40 balls.

Gulbuddin Naib took four wickets.

The most successful bowler for Afghanistan against Sri Lanka was Gulbadin Naib. He bowled a total of 10 overs for his team. During this time, managed to take a maximum of four wickets. Apart from him, Rashid Khan scored two and Mujeeb ur Rahman scored one.

Mohammad Nabi and captain Hashmatullah Shahidi looked in great rhythm while chasing the target. Jahan Nabi, batting at number six for the team, scored an explosive half-century of 65 runs off 32 balls. Shahidi contributed 59 runs off 66 balls while batting at number five. Apart from these two batsmen, Rahmat Shah, batting at number four, contributed 45 runs in 40 balls.

Kasun Rajitha was the most successful bowler for Sri Lanka.

Kasun Rajitha was the most successful bowler from Sri Lanka. He achieved a maximum of four hits in his 10 over spell. Apart from Rajitha, Dunith Velez managed to take two wickets and Mahesh Tikshana and Mathisha Pathirana managed to take one wicket each.
