National Education Policy: Research work required in one year post graduation

Prayagraj Prof. One year postgraduate studies will be conducted in Rajendra Singh (Rajju Bhaiya) State University and 703 colleges affiliated to the Board. Under the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP), admissions to undergraduate four-year courses will begin this year. After that one year PG course will be started. The state university is revising the syllabus for postgraduate courses. Students have to compulsorily do research work (dissertation) in Master’s degree. Also, PG students have to study skill development, entrepreneurship as an optional subject. An Academic and Working Council will be held to run the revised courses in PG.

After getting the approval, the revised syllabus will be implemented in the universities and colleges of the state. Four year graduation courses will be conducted from the new session. After one more year i.e. five years of study students will get master degree. Students who complete four years of Ph.D. will be eligible for But, they have to compulsorily do one year course work during research.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Singh said that all the colleges will encourage their registered students for promotion in the fourth year. Along with this, admission to two-year post-graduate courses will also be given through lateral entry. If such students avail the multiple exit facility after completing one year, they will be awarded a one-year Post Graduate Diploma. Master’s degree will be awarded only after successful completion of two years.
