The Afghanistan Cricket Board announced its 17-man squad for the Asia Cup 2023 on Sunday evening. Fast bowler Naveen-ul-Haq has not got a place in this team. Naveen has been in the news this year after clashing with Virat Kohli in the IPL. On one hand, fans are pulling his legs to get out of the team, while Naveen’s Instagram post is now going viral on social media. Naveen made this post shortly after announcing the Afghanistan team.
Posting a picture of herself on Instagram, Naveen wrote, “No matter how well your eyes adjust to the dark, you’ll never mistake them for light.”
Let us tell you that Naveen played his last ODI (against Ireland) in January 2021. The 23-year-old has played seven ODIs so far, picking up 14 wickets at an economy rate of 5.78. Interestingly, despite a clean sweep of the three-match ODI series against Pakistan, the Afghan team did not include Naveen in the squad.
