Neeraj Chopra Live Updates: India’s golden boy Neeraj Chopra will begin his campaign at the World Athletics Championships today. Neeraj, who has been in great form for some time now, will have his sights set on securing a place in the top-12 and entering the finals. This will be the Olympic champion athlete’s first stop in the competition. A total of 37 athletes are competing in the javelin throw event at the World Athletics Championships. These players are divided into two groups A and B. Neeraj Chopra is in Group-A. 12 of these players will participate in the final on August 27. An athlete must clear at least 83 meters to earn an automatic spot in the final. While Pakistan’s javelin player Arshad Nadeem is also participating in this competition and is in Group-B. The Group-A qualification round will begin at 1:40 pm IST, while the Group-B athletes will be in action from 3:15 pm onwards.

1:10 pm: Along with star javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra, two more Indian players Manu DP and Kishore Jena are also part of the competition in this event. Manu will be in Group-A along with DP Neeraj, while Kishore is in Group-B.
