The result of NEET UG 2024 has been declared. 67 candidates have secured first rank in this examination. In such a situation now students will participate in the counseling for MBBS admission. Most of the students want to take admission in AIIMS. As for the seats, currently AIIMS New Delhi had a total of 132 seats, out of which three are for Open-PWD category candidates and 11 for General-EWS category candidates, 32 for OBC, 18 for SC, nine seats. One each for ST and SC-PWD and Gen-EWS PWD, while two seats were earmarked for OBC-PWD. Now students have to meet the cutoff criteria to register for NEET counseling for admission in AIIMS and then they can choose AIIMS Delhi as their first choice while attending the counselling.
This time the number has increased due to grace marks
The National Testing Agency (NTA) cited several reasons for the record 67 toppers in NEET UG-2024 on Wednesday. This was said to be due to a comparatively easy paper, more registrations, two correct answers and one question with grace marks. When asked about the record number of students securing 720 marks, a senior NTA official said that the exam had a question which had two correct answers as per the changes in the NCERT book. Therefore, two options were declared correct and the marks of 44 candidates increased from 715 to 720. The issue was also raised that with a total possible score of 720, the second highest score that can be achieved is 716, but students scored 718 and 719 marks. NTA said this was due to grace marks. Candidates who reported missing time during NEET UG 2024 have been given grace marks. This was done under the orders of the Supreme Court.
