Amid the controversy arising out of alleged irregularities in NEET UG 2024, the Supreme Court on Friday once again refused to stay the counseling process of the medical entrance exam. The counseling process for admission to various medical courses including MBBS, BDS based on NEET UG score will start from the predetermined date of July 6. A vacation bench of Justice Vikram Nath and Justice SVN Bhati sought a response from the NTA on some fresh petitions. The apex court has listed these fresh petitions along with other pending petitions related to the same issue for hearing on July 8. The petitioner’s counsel requested that the counseling be postponed from July 6 as the Supreme Court is scheduled to hear the petitions challenging the NEET UG examination on July 8.

According to the Live Law website, the Supreme Court said during the hearing, ‘ Neat Counseling is not something that suddenly opens and closes. It is a process. This process will start from 6th. What is the duration of the first schedule? Four days or five days? A week… After that, within that week, applicants have several options for amendments etc… Only then does it come to the conveyancer. We don’t waste time this way or that. Students will know the options of colleges.

Earlier on Thursday, the Supreme Court stayed the proceedings of three high courts hearing petitions challenging the conduct of NEET UG and sought an independent probe into alleged irregularities related to paper leaks and awarding of grace marks.

Shockingly, low marks and ranks of students accused of NEET paper leak, will not get a government seat for MBBS.

The accused students have not been granted bail
The accused arrested in the NEET UG exam 2024 paper leak scam have received a major blow from the Patna court. Also on Tuesday, the Supreme Court issued notices to the National Testing Agency (NTA) and the central government and sought their response on pleas related to alleged paper leaks and irregularities in the NEET UG 2024 examination. While hearing a plea seeking cancellation and re-conduct of the NEET exam, the Supreme Court had said that if there is even 0.001 percent negligence on the part of someone, accept it and take appropriate action at the appropriate time to instill confidence in the students.
