The NTA conducted a re-examination on Sunday for 1,563 students who secured grace marks in the eligibility-cum-entrance test for undergraduate (NEET-UG), but 813 of them appeared. NTA officials gave this information A senior official of NTA said that at least 52 percent students appeared in the exam. After the Supreme Court’s order, the exam was re-conducted at seven centres. Its centers were in Balod and Dantewada (Chhattisgarh), Surat (Gujarat), Shillong (Meghalaya), Bahadurgarh and Jhajjar (Haryana) and Chandigarh.
In fact, in the NEET-UG examination held on May 5, students at these six centers complained of loss of time, after which the NTA gave them grace marks. After the controversy, a total of 1563 students were re-examined. The exam was conducted on Sunday from 2 pm to 5:20 pm. During this period, adequate security arrangements were made at all the centres. Meanwhile, the NTA on Sunday delisted 17 candidates appearing for the examination on May 5 at centers in Bihar. According to officials, these 17 candidates were barred from appearing in the examination after irregularities were detected.

According to school officials, the two students did not arrive for the exam till 130 pm, after which the gate was closed.

The news of them being hacked is false and misleading. This clarification from the NTA comes amidst the ongoing controversy over alleged irregularities in competitive exams including NEET-UG and UGC-NET. A senior official said that NTA’s website and all its web portals are fully secured.
