Petitions for cancellation of NEET-UG 2024 and re-examination were heard in the Supreme Court today. During the hearing, the NTA told the court that the scores of 1,563 NEET-UG 2024 candidates have been invalidated. The NTA also informed that the re-examination for these candidates will be held on June 23, with the result and counseling expected by June 30. In the hearing held in the court today, there were three petitions seeking cancellation and re-organisation of the NEET UG 2024 examination due to alleged discrepancy in awarding of grace marks. Let us tell you that the court has also made it clear that only the candidates who get grace marks will retake the NEET exam.

Initial notification, re-examination is optional
It is being said that NTA may issue a notification for this at the earliest. Also let students know that retesting is optional. The examination authority has clarified that for those who do not wish to retake the exam, only the previous marks will be considered, but no grace marks will be added.

What was the reaction of the Minister of Education?
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s statement after the NTA’s decision on the matter of grace marks in the NEET result has also come to the fore. He said that we have presented our side in the court. No evidence of NEET exam leaks found. He said that there was no corruption in the NEET examination. This year 24 lakh students appeared for the NEET exam. The Supreme Court is hearing and the case concerns about 1,500 students. The government is ready to respond to the court. NTA conducts three main examinations of the country, JEE, NEET and CUET. Action will be taken against those responsible for this.
