Earlier, West Indies scored 175 runs for 8 wickets while batting first. Captain and opener Brandon King scored 79 runs in 45 balls with the help of 6 fours and 6 sixes. Kyle Myers was out on 34 off 25 balls while Roston Chase returned unbeaten on 32. Otneil Bartman and Andile Phehlukwayo took 3 wickets each for South Africa.

Windies wanted a total of 200-220
Brandon King was adjudged player of the match for his brilliant innings. The second T20 match of the series will be played at the same venue on Saturday. Windies will be looking to clinch the series by winning this match, while hosts South Africa will try to equalize. After the win, Brandon King said that he is happy to play good cricket for the upcoming T20 World Cup. We were trying to score 200 or 220 at the start but the wicket was difficult.
