Speaking exclusively to IANS, Birla said that a year has passed since the inauguration of the new Parliament building. Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of the new Parliament building on 10 December 2020 and inaugurated it on 28 May 2023. During the Covid crisis, the new Parliament building could be constructed in such a short time only because of the visionary leadership of PM Modi. The new Parliament House is a symbol of self-reliant India and reflects India’s culture, tradition and self-reliance.

“Vision 2047 also discussed in New Parliament House”

Referring to the monumental achievements of the new Parliament House, Birla said that a decades-pending bill (Nari Shakti Vandan Act) to give reservation to women was passed in the new Parliament House. This new parliament building will be remembered for creating three new laws of India ‘Indian Judicial Code, Indian Civil Protection Code and Indian Evidence Act’ to replace the ‘IPC, CrPC and Indian Evidence Act’ enacted during the British period. A resolution was passed in the House on the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya and the vision of 2047 was also discussed in the new Parliament House.

Birla told IANS that from the presidents of many countries of the world, speakers of their parliaments and foreign diplomats to people associated with India’s judiciary and defense sector, people associated with the film industry and the country’s farmers, laborers and common people. Now more than 80 thousand people have visited the new Parliament building.
