‘No money to pay bills…’, Pooja Entertainment crew members in dire straits, suffering due to non-payment

New Delhi: People associated with Vashu Bhagnani’s Pooja Entertainment said the crew members are living in fear and despair. They are expecting payment of their dues, which have become difficult to get after the disaster of ‘Bade Mian Chhote Mian’. People associated with the production house are worried about their upcoming EMI.

People who have worked in Pooja Entertainment’s films claim that the production house is delaying payment of their dues, which is mentally painful. They have left their home, waiting for the credit message. He made constant calls to hospitals during his treatment, but was not paid the outstanding fees for the work he did for Vashu Bhagnani’s recently released blockbuster. The production house’s last release was the Akshay Kumar-Tiger Shroff starrer Bade Mian Chhote Mian. Vashu Bhagnani was accused of non-payment of dues by several crew members last week. In an Instagram post put together by several people, several crew members tagged Pooja Entertainment, producer Vashu Bhagnani and her children Deepshikha Deshmukh and Jackie Bhagnani and spoke about their bad experience. He worked for a production house, but his fees were not paid.

In the post, the crew members accused Pooja Entertainment of negligence, unprofessional attitude and unethical behaviour. They struggle to ask for the money, which is promised to be paid in 45-60 working days, which in itself is unprofessional, yet the crew members agree because they are passionate about filmmaking. Ruchita Kamble’s post states that crew members will no longer tolerate exploitation. They don’t expect to get the dues, but want to make people aware of the bad behavior and practices of ‘Pooja Entertainment’, ‘Jackie Bhagnani’ and ‘Vashu Bhagnani’. It is worth mentioning that Ruchita Kamble has worked as an assistant director in Shahrukh Khan’s film ‘Raees’ and ‘Zero’.

Frustration grew among the crew members of the production house
Many people are now speaking openly against the production house. Vashu Bhagnani has reportedly denied taking money from people. In an interview with Times of India, the producer said that if anyone feels he is owed money, he should come forward with documents or file a case. The manufacturer also said that if anyone still has a problem, they can visit them at their office and they will come up with a solution within 60 days. According to an Indian Express report, people from different departments associated with Pooja Entertainment said that there is an atmosphere of fear and despondency among the crew members. They hope to get the due payment so that they can pay their next EMI. Crew members associated with the production of Arjun Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar and Rakul Preet Singh starrer ‘Mere Husband Ki Biwi’ are upset over the delay in payment of dues.

The focus puller described his ordeal
Focus puller Ravi Kumar, who worked on the Mudassar Aziz-directed film, told The Indian Express that the film had to be halted due to non-payment of the crew, but resumed after a letter from Pooja Films claiming they would be paid next month. He said he received part of his payment when a close relative fell seriously ill and requested payment of the arrears, but the troubles did not end there. He said, ‘The outstanding amount was Rs 1,56,000. Later, I had an accident in June, so I called the guy from the production house who said he would pay me, but he never did. Then I was given another number, but again no response. I was bedridden for 8 months, my insurance was exhausted and I borrowed money from people to pay my hospital bills. Even when I was hospitalized, I kept calling, but I was only made excuses. I’m a focus puller, but after the accident I can’t get enough work. It is to be noted that the crew members want Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff to intervene in the matter.
