New Delhi. The year 2001 saw the release of the political-drama film Nayak, in which Anil Kapoor won critical acclaim for his performance. The film was directed by famous South director Shankar. But few would know that the makers first choice for this film was not Anil Kapoor but some other superstar who also signed the film, but then something happened that made him walk away from the project.
The makers’ first choice for ‘Nayak’ was none other than Shahrukh Khan. He himself revealed that he was offered the film and also agreed. During an interview with Rediff, Shah Rukh Khan said that he has signed ‘Nayak’. He took only Rs 1 as signing amount. He also told Shankar that he would give him his dates for the film.
