New Delhi. Emraan Hashmi and Mallika Sherawat became overnight stars with the 2004 film ‘Murder’. It was directed by Anurag Basu. The producer of the film was Mukesh Bhatt. The film received mixed reviews, but ‘Murder’ was a superhit at the box office. Few people would know that Rajnish Duggal was the first choice for the film ‘Murder’ and not Emraan Hashmi.

Recently, in an interview given to Siddharth Kannan, Rajneesh Duggal revealed why he rejected the offer of the film ‘Murder’. He said, ‘I won the Mr India title in March 2003. On the third day I got a film offer. It was 10 days ago that a contest was going on in a resort in Mumbai. One day Mahesh Bhatt sir came. He asked everyone’s name and also why they had come here. Everyone was saying their names, when it was my turn I stood up and said my name is Rajneesh Duggal. I am from Delhi and came here to win. I think he might have been impressed by my words.
