This time the T20 World Cup will be telecast not only on Disney Hotstar but also on Doordarshan. People will be able to watch live telecast of T20 World Cup as well as Paris Olympics and Wimbledon through DD Sports.
Prasar Bharti CEO Gaurav Dwivedi made this announcement during a media interaction on Monday. Prasar Bharti also launched the special national anthem ‘Jazba’ for the T20 World Cup on the occasion. Doordarshan also announced live telecasts, delayed telecasts and telecasts of the Paris Olympics from 26 July to 11 August and the Paris Paralympics from 28 August to 8 September.
Apart from this, India’s tour of Zimbabwe from July 6 to 14 will also be telecast. After the T20 World Cup, five T20 matches will be played in this tour. According to the press release, India’s limited overs series in Sri Lanka from July 27 to August 7 will also be telecast live on DD Sports. Apart from this, Doordarshan will also telecast the French Open and Wimbledon finals. “Prasar Bharti is in advanced stages of talks with various sports organizations and agencies to show various sports leagues and competitions on its sports channel,” it said.
