“Not shocked”: Biden on death of Putin challenger Wagner Chief

Washington: Prigozhin, head of the Wagner Group, has died in a plane crash in Russia. The plane had taken off from Moscow and was heading to St. Petersburg. A total of 10 people were on board the plane with Prigozhin. Russian officials said 10 people were killed in the crash, including Wagner’s chief, Yevgeny Prigozhin.

Biden said – I am not surprised..
US President Joe Biden said on Wednesday that he was “not surprised” by news that Yevgeny Prigozhin may have died in a plane crash in Russia. “I don’t really know what happened, but I’m not surprised,” Biden said.

After taking an exercise class with his family near Lake Tahoe, Biden told reporters, “It’s rare in Russia that something big happens that doesn’t involve President Vladimir Putin.”

“But I don’t know enough to know what might have happened to Putin’s former powerful henchman,” he added.

It is also being said that two explosions were heard before the plane crash. Due to which the fear of attack on the plane is also being expressed. According to Russian state media, Prigozhin’s name was on the passenger list of the plane that crashed northwest of Moscow.
